Tourism Minister urges South Africans to travel domestically

Speaking at the launch of Tourism Month in the Western Cape, Sisulu said the country celebrates Tourism Month to highlight and bring to the fore the importance of the tourism sector, its contribution to the economy and the potential it has to transform the trajectory of the country. Ms. Sisulu explained that Tourism Month aims to generate awareness of the enormous contribution that the tourism industry makes to provincial and national economic growth and job creation.

Home Affairs’ new digitisation project underway

The new digitisation programme was first announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) in February 2022, which forms part of his Presidential Employment Stimulus (PES). Launching the recruitment project on 11 August, Home Affairs Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, said the department has more than 350 million civic paper records relating to birth, marriage, deaths and amendments.

President Ramaphosa to participate in 42nd ordinary summit of Southern African Development Community (SADC)

South Africa leverages SADC as its primary foreign policy vehicle for achieving regional development and integration within Southern Africa. At the same time, SADC is guided by the SADC Vision 2050 and the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (2020 – 2030), the Industrialisation Strategy and Roadmap, and the Regional Infrastructure Development Master Plan.
