President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the late former Deputy President, Mr. David Dabede Mabuza, will be honoured with a Category 2 State Funeral on Saturday, 12 July 2025.
Mr. Mabuza, aged 64, passed away on Thursday, 3 July 2025, following a brief illness.
The State Funeral will take place in Mpumalanga, with further details to be communicated in the coming days.
In honour of Mr. Mabuza’s life and service to the nation, President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared a period of National Mourning from Monday, 7 July 2025, until the evening of Saturday, 12 July 2025. During this period, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government buildings and official sites across the country.
