The United States of America is South Africa’s third largest trading partner after China and the European Union, with more than 600 US companies operating within SA borders. In 2021, the United States ranked as the second largest destination for South Africa’s exports globally.

“South Africa’s thoughts and prayers are with The Royal Family, the Government and people of the United Kingdom as they mourn their immense loss,” President Ramaphosa said.

Addressing the launch of the National Parks Week at Augrabies National Park in the Northern Cape, Minister Barbara Creecy said the recovery reflects that the South African Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan in the tourism sector is well on track.

As the International Labour Organization notes, work experience and skills acquired through public employment programmes can improve a person’s chances of being employed, becoming self-employed or starting their own business.

Speaking at the launch of Tourism Month in the Western Cape, Sisulu said the country celebrates Tourism Month to highlight and bring to the fore the importance of the tourism sector, its contribution to the economy and the potential it has to transform the trajectory of the country. Ms. Sisulu explained that Tourism Month aims to generate awareness of the enormous contribution that the tourism industry makes to provincial and national economic growth and job creation.
