South Sudan’s journey to statehood, and the progress it has made towards constructing and consolidating its nationhood, is a remarkable and largely untold story.

High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa, Rieaz Shaik, gave an interview to CBC Radio’s Louis Blouin.

“Out of the 20 nations in the World Cup, the Springboks delighted and inspired us – whether they were on the field, on the bench or in the coaches’ box,” said the President.

Health Minister, Dr Joe Phaahla, on Friday officially opened Africa’s first Regional Diagnostic Demonstration Centre (RDDC). The centre, which has its headquarters in Johannesburg, Gauteng, will boost laboratory capabilities all over Africa, advancing the objective of a safe and secure Africa. He also recognised the Canadian High Commissioner to South Africa, Christopher Cooler, who announced funding for the establishment of the RDDC as a regional centre of excellence.
