H. E. High Commissioner Dlamini-Mntambo hosted a reception in commemoration of the Oliver Reginald Tambo Centenary and in celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation. H.E. Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, who was on an official visit to Ottawa at the time, was the main speaker at the event. Diane Jacovella, Deputy Minister of International Development, delivered remarks on behalf of the government of Canada. His Worship Jim Watson, Mayor of the City of Ottawa, was also on hand to welcome Minister Nkoana-Mashabane to Ottawa. During her address, Minister Nkoana-Mashabane, spoke of the decades of cooperation between South Africa and Canada, and highlighted the potential for continued collaboration on bilateral and multilateral matters.
